Our mission is simple: to connect people on the Cape with locally grown farm and sea products.

We do this through two approaches:

1) Public information and education about where to find locally-grown products, and why it's a great idea to do so.

2) Collective promotion of our Partners who have made a commitment to support land and sea farms and ocean harvesters in Barnstable County.

Buy Fresh Buy Local is a program of FoodRoutes Network, a national non-profit organization that provides technical support to community-based groups that are working to strengthen regional markets for locally-grown foods.

The local Cape Cod chapter was started in summer 2008 and is administered by Cape Cod Cooperative Extension. Program activities are guided by a Committee comprised of local land and sea farmers, restaurant owners, individuals and County Extension staff. Funding and support is provided by the Barnstable County and Cape Cod Cooperative Extension.
